The Oklahoma Coal Database was developed by the Oklahoma Geological Survey as part ofthe National Coal Resources Data System (NCRDS). The NCRDS is a cooperative programof the U.S. Geological Survey and state geological surveys of coal-producing states. The database includes tables on stratigraphy, analyses, production, and coalbed-methanecompletions.

The coalbed-methane completions database, from which the version on this site was adapted, is available from the Oklahoma Geological Survey for $17 as a digital version in Excel or Access format on a floppy diskette or e-mail attachment.

Instructions

Search the database using one of several search methods.

Only one method may be selected, using the radio buttons above. (Note: Radiobuttons are the small circular buttons to the left of the pull-down menu bars.)

Searches may be conducted using a selected County, which is the defaultoption, or by selecting a specific Coal Bed or Operator.

In addition, the database can be searched by Production (MCFGPD) or by Initial Depth Range.

To begin, choose a search method (using a radio button), then select acorresponding record from the adjacent pull-down menu bar.

Next, select the RUN SEARCH button.

Records meeting the search criteria will be displayed, sorted in order by county, coal bed, township, range, and section if using any of the first three search options.

Searches by Production or Initial Depth Range are sorted in ascending order by Productionor Initial Depth Range numbers.

Note, on many browsers, once you have selected a pull-down menu, simply typing the first letter ofthe field name will cause the list to fast-forward to records whose names beginwith the letter you typed.
